【摘要】:Multiaxialforcesoftentendtointroducedeformationanddamagemechanismsthatareuniqueandquitedifferentfromthoseinducedunderasimpleuniaxialloadingcondition.Sincemostengineeringcomponentsaresubjectedtocyclicmultiaxialforcesitisnecessarytocharacterizethedeformationandfatiguebehaviorsofmaterialsinthismode.Suchacharacterizationenablesreliablepredictionofthefatiguelivesofmanyengineeringcomponents.Axial-torsionalloadingisoneofseveralpossibletypesofmultiaxialforcesystemsandisessentiallyabiaxialtypeofloading.Thin-walledtubularspecimenssubjectedtoaxial-torsionalloadingcanbeusedtoexplorebehaviorofmaterialsintwoofthefourquadrantsinprincipalstressorstrainspaces.Axial-torsionalloadingismoreconvenientthanin-planebiaxialloadingbecausethestressstateinthethin-walledtubularspecimensisconstantovertheentiretestsectionandiswell-known.Thispracticeisusefulforgeneratingfatiguelifeandcyclicdeformationdataonhomogeneousmaterialsunderaxial,torsional,andcombinedin-andout-of-phaseaxial-torsionalloadingconditions.1.1Thestandarddealswithstrain-controlled,axial,torsional,andcombinedin-andout-of-phaseaxialtorsionalfatiguetestingwiththin-walled,circularcross-section,tubularspecimensatisothermal,ambientandelevatedtemperatures.Thisstandardislimitedtosymmetric,completely-reversedstrains(zeromeanstrains)andaxialandtorsionalwaveformswiththesamefrequencyincombinedaxial-torsionalfatiguetesting.Thisstandardisalsolimitedtocharacterizationofhomogeneousmaterialswiththin-walledtubularspecimensanddoesnotcovertestingofeitherlarge-scalecomponentsorstructuralelements.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
