【摘要】:1FieldofapplicationThisInternationalStandardspecifiesamethodforthedeterminationofdissolved,paniculateortotalelementsinraw,potableandwastewaterforthefollowingelements:aluminium,antimony,arsenic,barium,beryllium,bismuth,boron,cadmium,calcium,chromium,cobalt,copper,iron,lead,lithium,magnesium,manganese,molybdenum,nickel,phosphorus,potassium,selenium,silicon,silver,sodium,strontium,sulfur,tin,titanium,tungsten,vanadium,zinc,zirconium.Table1liststheseelementsalongwiththerecommendedwavelengthsandtypicalestimatedinstrumentaldetectionlimitsusingconventionalpneumaticnebulization.Actualworkingdetectionlimitsaresample-dependentandasthesamplematrixvaries,theseconcentrationscanalsovary.Becauseofthedifferencesbetweenvariousmakesandmodelsofsatisfactoryinstruments,nodetailedinstrumentaloperatinginstructionscanbeprovided.Instead,theanalystwillneedtorefertotheinstructionsprovidedbythemanufactureroftheparticularinstrument.2InterferencesTable2listselementsandthemostimportantspectralinterferencesatthewavelengthsrecommendedforanalysis.Severaltypesofinterferenceeffectscancontributetoinaccuraciesinthedeterminationoftraceelements.Theycanbesummarizedasfollows.a)Spectralinterferences,categorizedas:1)overlapofaspectrallinefromanotherelement;theseeffectscanbecompensatedbyutilizingcomputercorrectionoftherawdata;2)unresolvedoverlapofmolecularbandspectra;theseeffectscanpossiblybeovercomebyselectionofanalternativewavelength.Iftheappropriateequipmentisavailable,wavelengthscanningcanbeperformedtodetectpotentialspectralinterferences.b)Backgroundinfluences,categorizedas:2)backgroundcontributionfromcontinuousorrecombinationphenomena;3)backgroundcontributionfromstraylightfromthelineemissionofelementsinhighconcentration.Theeffectofbackgroundinterferencescanusuallybecompensatedbybackgroundcorrectionadjacenttotheanalyteline.Physicalinterferencesaregenerallyconsideredtobeeffectsassociatedwiththesamplenebulizationandtransportprocesses.Suchpropertiesaschangeinviscosityandsurfacetensioncancausesignificantinaccuracies,especiallyinsampleswhichmaycontainhighconcentrationsofdissolvedsolidsand/oracid.Ifthesetypesofinterferenceareoperative,theywillbereducedbydilutionofthesampleand/orutilizationofstandardadditiontechniques.Chemicalinterferencesarecharacterizedbymolecularcompoundformation,ionizationeffectsandsolutevaporizationeffects.Theseeffectsareovercomebybufferingofthesamplematrixandbystandardadditionprocedures(see8.1.3.2).Wheneveraneworunusualsamplematrixisencountered,aseriesoftestsshouldbeperformedpriortoreportingconcentrationdataforanalyteelements.Wheninvestigatinganewsamplematrix,comparisontestscanbeperformedusingotheranalyticaltechniques,suchasatomicabsorptionspectrometry.Serialdilution—Iftheanalyteconcentrationissufficientlyhigh(minimally10xtheinstrumentaldetectionlimitafterdilution),ananalysisofadilutionneedstoagreewithin5%oftheoriginaldetermination(orwithinsomeacceptablecontrollimitthathasbeenestablishedforthatmatrix).Ifnot,achemicalorphysicalinterferenceeffectcouldberesponsible.Calibrationbystandardaddition(see8.1.3.2)—Aspikeaddedtotheoriginaldeterminationataminimumlevelof10xtheinstrumentaldetectionlimit(maximum100x)needstoberecoveredtowithin90%to110%,orwithintheestablishedcontrollimitforthatmatrix.Ifnot,amatrixeffectshouldbesuspected.Theuseofastandardadditionanalysisprocedurecanusuallycompensateforthiseffect.
