【摘要】:Thelaboratoryfatiguelifedeterminedbythisstandardforbeamspecimenshavebeenusedtoestimatethefatiguelifeofasphaltconcretepavementlayersunderrepeatedtrafficloading.Althoughthefieldperformanceofasphaltconcreteisimpactedbymanyfactors(trafficvariation,speed,andwander;climatevariation;restperiodsbetweenloads;aging;etc.),ithasbeenmoreaccuratelypredictedwhenlaboratorypropertiesareknownalongwithanestimateofthestrainlevelinducedatthelayerdepthbythetrafficwheelloadtravelingoverthepavement.Note18212;Thequalityoftheresultsproducedbythisstandardaredependentonthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingtheprocedureandthecapability,calibration,andmaintenanceoftheequipmentused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofSpecificationD3666aregenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting/sampling/inspection/etc.UsersofthisstandardarecautionedthatcompliancewithSpecificationD3666alonedoesnotcompletelyassurereliableresults.Reliableresultsdependonmanyfactors;followingthesuggestionsofSpecificationD3666orsomesimilaracceptableguidelineprovidesameansofevaluatingandcontrollingsomeofthosefactors.1.1Thistestmethodprovidesproceduresfordeterminingauniquefailurepointforestimatingthefatiguelifeof380mm(14.96in.)longby50mm(1.97in.)thickby63mm(2.48in.)wideasphaltconcretebeamspecimenssawedfromlaboratoryorfieldcompactedasphaltconcrete,whicharesubjectedtorepeatedflexuralbending.1.2Thebetween-laboratoryreproducibilityofthistestmethodisbeingdeterminedandwillbeavailableonorbeforeJune2013.Therefore,thistestmethodshouldnotbeusedforacceptanceorrejectionofamaterialforpurchasingpurposes.1.3Thetextofthisstandardreferencesnotesandfootnoteswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthestandard.1.4Units8212;ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Otherunitsofmeasurementincludedinthisstandardareforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
